Hey I’m Ciara
Let me start by telling you a little bit about me.
I’m 32, so that means I’m basically 40. I’m a mother to two fabulously naughty boys and the wife to the kindest husband on the planet. He’s pretty hot too. I like to believe that I have a pretty good sense of humour which always helps at cracking a smile. I may have slight obsession with buying makeup, scarves and quirky shoes and then quickly hiding the receipts from my husband. He wouldn’t understand. I love clothes but I’m lucky to have a trendy mum and I steal all of hers. I have the best dad who washes windows and cuts grass for free and ultimately I’m his favourite offspring. I have been told that I make tea that resembles dishwater but hey – gets me off making it.
I bought my first camera with my first pay cheque when I was 16. It probably gathered dust for a while when I discovered I looked old enough to get served alcohol in the local pub. I welcomed my first son into the world at the tender age of 19 and that’s when I picked my camera back up again. My life since then has been documented, with all those little moments that you take for granted like watching them brush their tiny little baby teeth in the bathroom mirror.
I don’t follow rules when it comes to taking photos, anything goes. Those rules have captured some of the most precious photographs that I will cherish forever.
My journey with my camera has taken me this far and I realise that my photographs can mean something to other people.
About Time is a name that I thought best suited my work. Taking photographs for a living is something that I have wanted to do for a long time. It also means that it’s about time, the time in your life and all that it’s about. I’ve heard my own parents say that they wish they could freeze time and as I’ve gotten older I’ve began to realise exactly what that means. Sometimes I wish I could just freeze that moment and all of the expressions and emotions that come with it. I believe that’s my job, to capture all those funny, tear jerking moments that you want to remember forever.
Put the kettle on and have a look around. If you like what you see, get in touch.
